ELYRIA, Ohio--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 19, 2006--At Medtrade(R) 2006, Invacare Corporation (NYSE:IVC) will deliver a variety of products and programs to help home medical equipment providers improve their business despite ongoing reimbursement and regulatory government challenges. Medtrade, the home medical equipment industry's largest tradeshow, is in Atlanta, Georgia, September 19 - 21, 2006.

"Invacare is known for delivering innovative products at Medtrade, but the Company realizes that it will take more than products to help providers survive in today's reimbursement environment," said Mal Mixon, chairman and chief executive officer. "This is why Invacare will introduce a multitude of programs to enhance the viability of a provider's business."

At booth number 1017, Invacare will introduce several provider programs, including the new Invacare(R) 5-Star Service Plan, designed to give customers another option in delivering service to consumer power and scooter customers. It also includes the new web-based Invacare Marketing Toolbox, which will give providers the tools they need to build their business. Invacare will continue to offer reimbursement information and financial services to customers to help them navigate through the upcoming reimbursement changes.

In addition to the introduction of these programs, Invacare also will deliver innovative products designed for the new reimbursement environment:

Between the Invacare Rehab Division and The Helixx Group, providers will find the broadest range of quality rehab products in the industry. For example, Invacare Rehab will introduce the Second Generation TDX(TM) (Total Driving Experience) SP Power Wheelchair. The TDX SP features the next level of technology to better meet the needs of consumers, and it will be priced to meet the reimbursement environment. Invacare Rehab also will present its new line of compelling custom manual products with the Top End(R) Crossfire(TM) T6 and Top End(R) Crossfire(TM) Titanium high performance rigid wheelchairs with Ergo seat.

The Helixx Group, which includes Freedom Designs, Altimate Medical, Kuschall North America, Motion Concepts and PinDot, will launch a variety of new products to round off Invacare's Rehab offering.

The Respiratory Division will showcase the Invacare Complete Respiratory Solution for Oxygen products. It will debut the latest in lightweight cylinder assemblies for the HomeFill II with its new featherweight line of portable oxygen cylinders. The featherweight line of cylinders features the new M2 sized cylinder, the smallest and lightest cylinder assembly yet for the HomeFill II. The M2 cylinder fills in just 24 minutes, but lasts over two hours and weights less than two pounds, the perfect size for a quick trip to the store. In addition, Invacare will introduce the latest in oxygen technology with the next generation oxygen concentrator and its new portable concentrator.

The Standard Product Division will feature the Invacare(R) Value Line of products. This new line of standard products is cost-competitive in today's reimbursement climate. With a full line of Invacare brand-quality standard and bariatric products at price points that fit the providers' needs, everything you want will be in one place.

As part of its new distribution agreement with AEIOMed, Inc., Invacare's Sleep Division will introduce two new products at Medtrade: the Invacare(R) Polaris(TM) TR CPAP and Invacare(R) Twilight(TM) NP Mask. Combined with the new Twilight(TM) II Mask and Invacare(R) SoftX(TM) Technology, Invacare will show that it is rapidly becoming the third major player in the sleep industry.
